Welcome to the
May Arts &
Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop! I'm thrilled to be a part of such a fun event, and I hope you enjoy the tutorial I created to celebrate
Ribbon Carousel's first amazing year! There will be prizes, inspiration, discounts, and of course, lots of beautiful
May Arts ribbon!
I love to pair rustic elements like burlap with glamorous bits of bling like glitter and frilly ribbons! Rustic glam votives combine the two styles, and would be lovely for a bridal shower favor or for wedding decor!
I found these paper seed pots at a dollar store earlier this spring, and stashed them away for the perfect crafty project!
To add a little glam and glitz to the pot's rustic style, I painted the top rim with a tacky white glue inside and out, then dipped the seed pot in vintage glass glitter. So much sparkle!
May Arts
sheer frayed flowers layered on top of
wired burlap creates the perfect marriage of rustic and glam! I used white tacky glue to fuse the ribbons together, and trimmed each end to a point.
The pointed ends help the layered ribbons fit snugly around the tapered shape of the seed pot. Tacky glue bonds the ribbon to the paper securely and dries clear.
A single pretty bloom cut from the sheer frayed flower trim hides the seams and makes a beautiful accent for the votive!
Simply pop a fragrant candle in a glass holder into the decorated seed pot, and you have a rustic glam votive that's sure to add sparkle and rustic charm to any occasion!
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to hop along to the other blogs joining the party!
