{French General Art Journal}

I was beyond thrilled when I won a giveaway of the new French General papercrafting line by Jolee's Boutique! The products are simply beautiful, and I'm so happy to share the first project I made using my prize, a mixed-media art journal.

I handbound the journal using red waxed linen thread and a french link stitch that creates a lovely pattern.

The inner pages are made from my favorite mix-media paper by Canson, and the signatures are wrapped with French General paper to protect them, and to add a decorative accent to the spine.

To create the journal I used the packaging from the Bleu Fabric Remnants as the base for the cover. It looks and feels like linen! The packaging was cut to size and then covered with a piece of Adhesive Fabric, and topped with a sheet from the Bleu Fabric Remnants. The signatures were wrapped with a paper from the Red Paper Pad, and stickers from the Alphabet Pack were perfect for the title on the cover! You can see the entire collection at the French General website.

I still have lots of beautiful papercrafting goodies to work with, so I'll be posting more projects as soon as they are ready. Thanks again to French General & Jolee's Boutique for these inspiring products!
