For the love of blogs {and Corgis}

This is our adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Rainbows Princess Madeline Emily Margaux is her name, but you can call her Maddi! She is a testament to the power of blogging. A few years ago, I became a devoted reader of Posie Gets Cozy, the quirky, funny blog of the ever so charming Alicia Paulson. Alicia/Posie posts about the simple joys of her everyday life in Portland, Oregon. She shares a rose covered cottage with her husband Andy, two cats, and the star of the show: a Cardigan Corgi named Clover Meadow! On any given day Clover can be found lounging on the sofa under one of Posie's signature afghans or quilts, tangled up in a skein of yarn, exploring the garden, or curled up in her cozy bed dreaming doggy dreams.
It's strange to think that a complete stranger, thousands of miles away, not even knowing of your existence, can have such an impact on your life, but that's my whole point about the power of blogging. When we decided a couple of years ago to give in to our daughter's impassioned pleadings for a puppy of her own, we had no doubt what breed we wanted: a sweet little corgi like Clover! After much searching, we found our own little bundle of doggy goodness and she has brought us joy everyday! We love her from the top of her pink nose to the tip of her non-existent tail! We love her stubby but sturdy little legs, her penchant for running in circles as fast as she possibly can, and for her loyal, unconditional love for us. So this post is really a thank you to Clover, to Alicia and Andy, and to the original Posie Corgi, the beloved and much missed Audrey. And thanks to the power of the blog, a wonderful source of inspiration and of connection to all those kindred spirits around the wide, wide, world.
Do you have a favorite blog? I'd love to hear about it and what makes it a special destination for you!

  1. I think she may be the cutest Corgi I've ever seen! :) So glad she brings you so much joy! I wish I could tell you ONE spot I go for inspiration, but alas, the world of blogging is a slippery slope- now I've got so many I spend more time LOOKING at inspiration than creating! ACK!
    Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday! :)

  2. You got me started on the Posie blog - LOVE it!! Don't you wish you had her studio space?! I just love that so many talented women are willing to share their creations online - the inspiration is endless and I need someone to make me step away from the laptop so I could get some work done around here!!
