May Arts Silk Ribbon Snippet & Collage Coterie!

An unexpected treasure surfaced in my studio today: a little snippet of white silk ribbon from the May Arts Calling All Bloggers challenge! I decided to incorporate it into my new journal  as a bookmark. I jazzed it up a bit by stamping on it and then coloring it with a copic marker. I wasn't sure if this technique would be successful, but it worked!
I just stamped on the ribbon with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored the eggs with my favorite Copic sketch marker - Robin's Egg Blue. The nest is shaded with a brown colored pencil.
Here's the cover of the journal just waiting for more embellishment! I created it using a 25 cent composition book, some gorgeous paper from the Girl's Paperie collection, and scrumptious May Arts textured ribbons!
This owl ATC is my first project for a new online class I started on Sunday: Collage Coterie. I gushed about the other class I took from the same teacher: Mary Green of Green Paper. I have a feeling I'll be gushing about this class even more! If you would like to join the class, just click on the button in the sidebar. Or check out our flickr group to see some of the amazing artwork already created for the class!
