Robin's Egg Blue - Rescued!

Megan rescued a robin's egg from the playground at school yesterday. She found it lying far from its nest, and brought it home, hoping to coax it to hatch. After much consultation with a friend, and extensive research on Wikipedia, she crafted a little nest for the egg using a discarded soap box, some grass, and, for purely aesthetic reasons, a few posies plucked from the garden.
Clucking over the egg like any fretful mother bird, she decided the little creature needed some music to soothe and comfort it. The precious egg is now tucked up under a square of felt with a desk lamp for an incubator. If wishes count, we'll soon have a little birdie to nurture!

  1. Hope Megan's bird hatches - has she thought about when she has to chew up worms and feed the baby if it hatches? Just sayin. . . . Great pics!!
